Wreck diving in Hurghada is mostly done on the wreck of the El Mina, a Russian mine sweeper which sank on February 6,1970. At this same location you can make a wreck dive on the Mohamed Hasabella. The wrecks El Mina and the Egyptian fishing boat Mohamed Hasabella are situated in front of the New Marina in Hurghada. The wreck of the El Mina lies at a depth of 32 meters, is 70 meters long and 9 meters wide.

On the same dive site, you can also make a wreck dive on the wreck of the Mohamed Hasabella. The Mohamed Hasabella lies, fully intact, about one or two minutes diving south of the El Mina at a depth of 34 meters.

The Excalibur wreck, also known as the Suzanna, lies on a depth of 22 meters at a swimming distance of the Hurghada shore. The 22 meters long safariboat Excalibur sank in 1996. A fire in the captain's cabine was probably the cause of the sinking of the Excalibur, but no one knows for sure if this is true.
Wreck diving on the Excalibur wreck is possible for divers from Open Water Diver level.
